Parents
Children develop at different rates and in different ways. In the normal run of a class, most children can be catered for by the differentiation of tasks to suit their particular needs. However, we are conscious that a number of children will require additional support at some time during their school career, in certain aspects of their schooling.
Special Educational Needs are, in general, initially identified by the class teacher, who will enter into discussions with parents and the school's SENCo. Depending on the particular needs of the child, there may be involvement from outside agencies with specialised skills.
The school follows the procedures of the City of York Council and the DfE SEN Code of Practice, and undertakes to keep parents and carers fully informed and involved.
We ensure that all children are as fully included in school life as is possible.
Our local offer can be seen here.
